Books and Printed Matter
- 1/ "Million Dollar Riff". (Jenny Brown-Dingo Books 1975). 160 pages of 'Hooks
History up to the point where they signed the infamous multi million dollar
deal prior to their American Tour. With Jenny Brown on the road for some of
the USA Tour Part two of this book would of been really fascinating. It was
THE book to have in the seventies, we all read and re-read it hundreds of
times, the photographs are still a highlight. Sadly long sold out, but try
2nd hand book shops.....it was a top 10 seller.
- 2/ "From the Vault" Magazine Vol 1 no.4. The Skyhooks Issue. OK it's not a book
but it's a great reference point. PLUS limited copies contained the rare
Skyhooks flexi-disc with "Sweet Sister"/"Guitar Thunders in my hand" on it.
Ian McFarlane wrote and researched the article (with some help from Greg,
Mark Goulding and Myself). There is a great Skyhooks family tree and he
invaded our record collection for a pretty good Discography. Sadly the
magazine called it a day sometime during Volume two. The 'Hooks issue is
now part of the Skyhooks Club Membership kit.(without the Flexi).
- 3/ In 1990 a young girl called Maree Barkla was in contact with all of us about
her Skyhook book. It was something she wanted to do. The book was dedicated
to the people who have always believed in her. It's 105 pages long and the
printing quality is of low standard, but something about it-makes it a must
have. Possibly the interviews. It was releasedunder her own Publications
(Maree) and is no longer available.
- 4/ In 1994 we all gave time and archive material to the Jeff Jenkins project
"Ego is not a Dirty Word". The book (like many things) was meant to co-incide
with the Skyhooks/Daddy Cool "Joint Effort Reunion Tour. The tour never did
happen but this book did. 186 pages and it takes us up to the band in the
studio recording NEW material. Some great photos, many never seen before and
an interesting read. We will have copies of this book available through the
website in a few weeks time, possibly autographed.
